Far Eagle is an exploration of acoustic and synthesized keyboard textures. The long title piece—written in memory of Gordon Sherman, master photographer of birds—is an evocation of the soaring infinitude of the eagle’s flight. I Sing the Body Electric — originally a choral piece set to the words of the Walt Whitman poem—is a layering of up to ten separate textures and voices. Listen closely and you can hear the beat of Whitman’s words in the music: I Sing the Body Electric!
